The Chloe — French Provincial Hall Stand

She sat in a shed for over a year, waiting for the right moment. Now, she's magnificent. Meet Chloe.

This stunning antique timber hall stand has been lovingly transformed using a multi-layered Annie Sloan Chalk Paint® technique, inspired by the beautifully worn patina of a well-loved French farmhouse dining table — all those layers of off-white, cream, and time.

She arrived with good bones and a quiet dignity. The kind of piece that doesn't shout, but draws you in. Ornate carved finials crown her pediment, a delicate spindle gallery frames her full-length mirror, and the carved door panel below speaks to a time when furniture was made to last generations — and to be admired.

Beginning with a base of Annie Sloan Coco, two full coats of Old White were applied before Cream was blended in while still wet. Once dry, a final wash of Coco was worked back over the whole piece to create that gloriously aged, patina-rich finish. Sealed with two coats of gloss lacquer for durability — because beautiful things should also be practical.

She’s at home in a French provincial hallway, a bedroom corner, or anywhere that deserves a little quiet elegance. Style her with dried stems, a stack of well-loved books, and something that smells like home.
