This is the kind of piece that earns a permanent spot on your kitchen bench — and earns compliments every time.
A classic Bendigo Pottery casserole dish with lid from the Epsom range, finished in that signature dark glaze with beautifully detailed beading and ear handles. In excellent condition and ready to style, serve, or simply be admired.
The base tells a remarkable story. Two maker's marks are impressed into the clay: the oval Bendigo Pottery / Epsom factory stamp bearing the initials NB — identifying Noel Bailey, a jolley hand who worked at the pottery between 1968 and 1973 — and a rectangular Hand Made Stoneware stamp confirming the hand-crafted nature of the piece. A third impressed mark, IE, identifies a second artisan, Ivan Eales, associated with the pottery during the same era.
This places the piece firmly in the late 1960s to early 1970s — a golden period of Australian studio craft. It is not just a casserole dish; it is a documented piece of Australian pottery history.
